Thoughtfully crafted in 2021
The Barracks bedside was designed with simple architectural principles using clean lines and balanced geometries, similar to housing blocks on military bases. I over-emphasized the support for this piece by enlarging the dowel through-legs. The exaggerated pillars add a playful interaction with the mitered casework, but still lend well to storage and function.
The oversized legs are communicated all the way through to simulate the legs piercing through the table top surface. Even though this is not the case, a viewer may be invoked by curiosity.
