Thoughtfully crafted in 2023
Ruffle describes an undulation or flow of waves. You can find ruffles in many sizes, materials and forms. Examples include textiles, sound, liquid, electricity and even landscapes. They can be permanent like rolling hills and ephemeral like the vibration of a snare drum or the ripple of a water droplet.
In my Ruffle series, I used an oscillating wave pattern that evenly runs parallel to the wood grain. I chose a steady pattern for a modular function to facilitate an interlocking tray and provide the ruffled table top with a mobile flat surface.
