Thoughtfully crafted in 2023

The goal of the Serif Lounge chair was to communicate a sense of principled elegance in form and detail. More importantly, a well crafted and contemporary design that would feel as established as it did new-fashioned.

Many of my creative decisions are made using graphic design fundamentals, especially as it relates to object form. This is why it made sense to pull from the established messaging of the serif typeface family, a typography that represents reliability and trust.

A closer and more curious look at the chair will reveal many engaging details. In particular are the "puzzle" joints. The Serif chair was a great opportunity to integrate these connecting pieces as a reminder of the puzzling and fulfilling nature of what being a designer and craftsman is all about.
